Brendan Wallace , Victor Coleman

Real estate, the world’s largest asset class, is responsible for 30–40% of all greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs), more than any other industry on earth. Decarbonizing the Built World is an engineering and technology problem that will be solved by engineers and technologists who will require investment in science-based innovation to produce technologies that will help the industry meet mounting regulatory requirements to reduce emissions. This discussion will focus on the global real estate industry’s culpability in the climate crisis and the multi-billion dollar investment opportunity that awaits for climate tech in the Built World.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the event moving to a virtual platform?

In response to covid-19, organizers of PEI’s PERE America have made the decision to transition from an in-person conference to a live virtual conference. The decision to move our event to a virtual platform was done based on the consideration of our attendees’ safety and official health recommendations.

When are conference sessions and events?

The virtual conference will take place on:

Tuesday, November 10: 9:00 am EST – 5:00 pm EST

Wednesday, November 11: 9:00 am EST – 2:00 pm EST

What about the timezone difference? How do I set meetings on my timezone?

The platform shows available meeting times as per your computers timezone. For example, if you are based in New York, a meeting you set for 12 pm from your account will show to a recipient in Los Angeles as 9 am, reducing the human error impact of incorrectly guessing timezones.

It is worth noting that event timings will be running on the Eastern Time Zone. The platform will note the timezone abbreviation next to most timings to avoid confusion.

How do I access sessions?

A few weeks prior to the event, all attendees will be sent a link to access our virtual conference app. As a registered attendee, you will be sent a unique link to access the platform. That link is unique to you and cannot be shared with anyone else.

To learn more about this platform, please view our How it works page. You can view our latest agenda here.

What is included in the ticket price?

Every registration ticket will include access to all general sessions, breakouts, interactive discussions, virtual networking sessions & private video chat, and on-demand playback of sessions.

Will the pricing change?

We have updated our pricing to reflect our virtual conference. Please visit the book now page for additional details.

Do I need to sit in front of my laptop all day or all night?

No. There will be live content (which is where you can take part in live Q&As) and select sessions will be made on demand for an additional 12 months, so you can watch sessions at a time convenient to you.

What if I forget that a session I want to attend is on?

You can build your own personal agenda within the platform and opt-in to receive notifications when sessions are about to begin.

I have watched enough webinars over the past 6 months, why would I want to watch more?

We hear you – which is why we have structured the platform to ensure you are part of the conversation. You will be able to:
  • Ask questions of panel speakers during the session
  • Spend time face-to-face via video conference with speakers to ask questions after the
    session
  • Join roundtables to discuss the topics that matter to you with like-minded peers
  • Focused networking breaks where you can discuss the strategies and opportunities you are interested in
  • Pop in to sponsor booths to connect via video and discuss their offerings or a presentation that they have given

What if I already purchased a ticket at the in-person rate?

A member of our team will be reaching out to either confirm your attendance to this year’s virtual event, transfer your registration to next year, or discuss other available options. If you have not heard from anyone, please reach out directly to our customer service team at regny@peimedia.com.

Additional questions?
