Borja Azpilicueta is Head of Capital Solutions, a business unit within Alternatives, HSBC Asset Management, based in London. Borja has been working in the financial industry since 1993. Prior to leading Capital Solutions, Borja was Global Head of the Private Capital Group, where he worked in numerous strategic and financing transactions with Private Equity firms and Alternative managers; and previously, Head of Advisory EMEA, advising HSBC clients on strategic transactions and capital raising. Prior to joining HSBC, Borja held senior Investment Banking roles at Credit Suisse and UBS. Borja is a graduate from ICADE university in Spain and was Associate Professor at IE Business School.

Felipe is responsible for the structuring team. Prior to Gemcorp, he spent most of his career at Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs in Emerging Markets structuring financing and derivative transactions and at VTB Capital working on financing companies, financial institutions and sovereigns in Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe and Asia. Before his banking career, he worked as a capital markets, M&A and project finance lawyer in Brazil.

Matthieu Boulanger. Mr. Boulanger is a Managing Director and Head of Europe at HPS Investment Partners. Before returning to HPS in 2024, Mr. Boulanger was a Partner at KKR & Co. where he was Global Co-Head and a Portfolio Manager for KKR’s Private Credit funds and portfolios. From 2008 to 2017, Mr. Boulanger was a Managing Director at HPS Investment Partners where he focused primarily on private credit strategies in the U.S. and in Europe. Prior to 2008, Mr. Boulanger worked at Citigroup, most recently in the Global Special Situations Group (a credit-focused, on-balance sheet proprietary investment fund, where he was responsible for leading the origination and execution of private equity and mezzanine investments), and before that in the Infrastructure & Energy Finance Group and in the Banking division. Mr. Boulanger received a BA in Finance and Economics from the University of Paris IX (Dauphine) and an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Nadav Braun, Partner, serves as an investment professional and has research responsibility for healthcare and technology. Prior to joining OHA, Mr. Braun was a Senior Vice President and Principal with Credit Research and Trading, a high yield trading boutique, where he served as an investment professional. He previously worked as a research analyst at Quilcap Corp. and began his career at Goldman Sachs where he was a generalist in the Corporate Finance Group. Johnny Brom is founder and Chief Investment Officer of SAIL Investments, where he also leads the Investment Committee. Johnny has a diverse background in business development and investment strategy for companies across South Africa, North America, and Europe. He started his career at JP Morgan Securities and held a role at a Cape Town-based boutique asset manager, accumulating over 17 years of investment experience in developed, emerging, and frontier markets. Johnny holds a Master’s in Finance from SOAS University of London, a PE specialisation from London Business School, and a Business Science degree from the University of Cape Town.

Peter Connolly is a Senior Director in the Structured Credit Group at Kroll Bond Rating Agency (KBRA) with more than nine years’ experience across multiple structured finance asset classes, including ABS, CLOs, and RMBS. Peter leads qualitative and quantitative analysis across BSL, MM, TruPS, and hybrid ABS structured credit transactions. He also contributes to the ongoing enhancement of the structured credit team’s analytical approaches.

Prior to joining KBRA, Peter held positions at Fitch Ratings and Prime II Management, working as a lead analyst on similar structured credit transactions.

Peter holds a B.S. with a major in finance from Sacred Heart University’s Jack Welch College of Business. In addition, he completed postgraduate studies in finance at Columbia University.

Aris Constantinides is a Managing Director in the Growth Debt team where he is responsible for originating, assessing, and managing transactions with a particular focus on all healthcare activities. He is also co-responsible for general management and execution of BlackRock's growth debt strategy in Europe and Israel. He joined BlackRock in 2023, following its acquisition of Kreos Capital, a firm which he joined as General Partner in 2016.

Prior to Kreos, Aris founded and managed NBGI Ventures since 2002, which he built and grew over 14 years into a leading medtech VC investor in Europe, resulting in over 20 investments across Europe and the US and achieving several notable and successful exits through M&A and IPO. Aris began his career at Bankers Trust in 1993 as a structurer of innovative financial products and has held senior positions with Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse. He holds Mechanical Engineering degrees from MIT (SM-1993) and Imperial College (B.Eng-1991) as well as an MBA from INSEAD (1997). Aris is fluent in English and Greek and proficient in French and Spanish.

Mr. Dashiell joined Willow Tree in 2020 as Head of Origination. He has been investing across the capital structure in private middle market businesses since 2007. Mr. Dashiell was previously a Managing Director in BlackRock’s Global Credit Group, where he was a member of the investment committee and responsible for originating, structuring and managing direct lending transactions. Prior to BlackRock, Mr. Dashiell served as a Managing Director at Ares Management where he focused on middle market direct lending investments across a variety of industries. Prior to being a principal investor, he joined the Corporate and Investment Banking Group at Bank of America in 2001, involved in the execution of mergers & acquisitions, equity and debt financings primarily in the Media & Telecom and Business Services sectors. Mr. Dashiell is a CFA Charterholder and received a B.S. in Finance and a major in French from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.

Ted Denniston serves as Senior Managing Director and Co-Head of NXT Capital and serves as Head of Originations. NXT Capital is an established middle-market direct lender and a subsidiary of ORIX Corporation USA. He joined NXT Capital in 2010 and is based in Chicago.

Mr. Denniston is jointly responsible for setting the strategic direction and overseeing all aspects of NXT Capital’s middle market private debt strategy. Mr. Denniston and his team are responsible for originating and closing new transactions, as well as maintaining relationships with private equity clients in the U.S. Mr. Denniston also is a member of NXT Capital’s Credit and Investment Committees.

Mr. Denniston has over 25 years of experience in credit, originations, and portfolio management. Before joining NXT Capital, he was a Director at Merrill Lynch Capital, where he was responsible for sourcing, closing, and managing transactions with private equity firms in the Northeast U.S. Mr. Denniston also spent nine years in a variety of roles at Transamerica Commercial Finance.

Mr. Denniston studied Business Administration at Emporia State University.

Robin Doumar is the founder and Managing Partner of Park Square Capital, LLP. Robin chairs the firm’s Investment Committee and Executive Committee. Before founding Park Square in 2004, Robin spent 15 years at Goldman Sachs in New York and London, where he headed the US Workout and Restructuring practise, headed the European leverage finance business, and headed the European Mezzanine business within the Principal Investment Area. Robin received his AB from Brown University, and a JD and MBA from the University of Virginia.

Mr. Endo joined Tokio Marine Asset Management (TMAM) in 2017. His responsibilities include investment analysis, due diligence, investment monitoring, performance analysis, client reporting, and client servicing.
Prior to joining TMAM, he worked as a Senior Director at A-FIVE, a venture capital　sponsored by Japanese government focusing on startups in food and agribusiness sectors, before spending seventeen years in Mizuho Bank, where he took various positions from Corporate Advisory to PE Investment, but spent most of his career in LBO Finance both in Tokyo and NY. Shinichiro Harada is a General Manager of Alternative Investment Department at Daido Life Insurance Company. He joined Daido Life Insurance Company in 1997. Since joining the company, he has been involved in whole spectrum of credit investment activity in various Daido’s investment organization over 25 years. Since 2017, he had lead Daido’s Private Debt Investment including Direct Lending, Infrastructure Debt, and Real Estate Debt as a Head of Structured Debt unit. Since April 2025, he has been responsible for managing the Private Asset portfolio including Private Equity, Infrastructure Equity, and Private Debt.

Nick Heilbut is a Managing Director for the Global Credit business. He serves as Portfolio Manager and Director of Research for the FS Credit Opportunities Fund, the FS Specialty Lending Fund and the FS Tactical Opportunities Fund.

Previously, Mr. Heilbut was a Managing Director at DW Partners where he focused on investments in stressed and distressed debt. He served as the Head of Research for Magnetar’s Event Credit business and the Magnetar Credit Opportunities Fund and was also a member of the Event Driven Investment Committee.

Prior to joining Magnetar, Mr. Heilbut worked at Serengeti Asset Management where he was responsible for the firm’s investments in financial institutions, health care, media and sovereign debt.

He joined Serengeti from Goldman Sachs where he was a Vice President in the Special Situations Multi-Strategy Investing Group. There, he invested in multiple asset classes including public corporate credit and equities, private corporate credit and equities, drug royalties, and distressed financial assets. Mr. Heilbut began his career as an Associate in Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette’s Mortgage Department.

Mr. Heilbut earned a BA in History (Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Seung-ki Jeong is Kiwoom Asset management’s alternative investment manager. He is responsible for investing in real estate, infrastructure, private debt, private equity, and other alternative assets. Prior to Kiwoom, he worked at DGB Life insurance as an alternative investment manager. Before DGB Life, he was MG Non-Life Insurance company’s alternative investment manager. He started his finance career at DB Financial Investment as an alternative investment analyst. He earned a Bachelor's degree at Hanyang University.

Hiroshi Jinno is Chief Investment Officer for International Finance Corporation (IFC) joined in June 2015. He is responsible for developing and managing strategic relationships to mobilize Japanese and global companies for strategic projects, identifying development impact by integrating public and private sector efforts, creating and materializing new opportunities for high impact and sustainable investments in the emerging markets and developing countries by engaging with the clients and sponsors. Prior to joining IFC, Mr. Jinno had extensive experience in the corporate and investment banking over the three decades. He has broad exposure and expertise to structured finance, corporate finance, capital markets, corporate restructuring, private equity investment and M&A advisory for his Japanese and global clients. He held senior management positions at leading global financial institutions including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, Aozora Bank and Deutsche Bank. Mr. Jinno holds a B.A. from Keio University and an M.P.P.M. from Yale School of Management.

SangHoon Ji is responsible for business development in Asia. Prior to joining Constellar, Mr. Ji worked for Woori Global Markets Asia Hong Kong Limited at Woori bank, one of the largest banks in Korea, where he was a Head of Alternative Investment with a focus on sourcing and/or selling various alternative investment opportunities. Prior to this, Mr. Ji spent more than 11 years at Man Group where he was a Head of Korea since 2016 to build up Man Group’s business development. Mr. Ji joined FRM in Tokyo in 2007 which subsequently was acquired by Man in 2012. He was responsible for supporting a few of the largest Japanese investors as a Client Portfolio Manager after working as a FRM client service specialist, focusing on various Japanese institutional investors. Mr. Ji graduated with a BA in Economics from the Kyoto University in Japan and is fluent in Korean, Japanese, and English.

Kulbhushan leads the Global Private Debt platform of Allianz Global Investors in Asia. He is a Senior Portfolio manager and responsible for sourcing investments in Asia. He co-manages the Allianz Global Diversified Infrastructure & Energy Transition fund and the Allianz Global Real Estate Debt Opportunities fund.

He joined Allianz Global Investors in 2023 from Allianz Investment Management, where he was the Head of Private Debt, Asia for Allianz Investment Management. He also led investment strategy for Allianz’s Balance Sheets in Asia with an AUM of ~EUR 48bn. Kulbhushan has over 15 years of experience in the fields of asset management, investment management, strategy and M&A.

In his previous roles, Kulbhushan has been founder member of HSBCs life insurance JV in India: Canara HSBC Life. He has also been a SaaS tech entrepreneur. A Postgraduate in Management from K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management and Research, he is a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) graduate from Delhi University.

Mattias Karnell is Director and Head of Sales at Teneo Partners Japan. He graduated from Stockholm University with an MA in Japanese Studies. Despite growing up outside of Japan, he possesses native-level Japanese language skills.

He is a US Certified Public Accountant license holder, for which he completed his studies in Japan and in Japanese, and he is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).

In addition to overseeing the general sales effort at Teneo Partners Japan, Mattias’ core client base includes the major financial institutions (banks, trust banks, insurance companies) and asset management companies with whom he liaises in Japanese.

He leads the institutional coverage team whose primary product focus is on alternative funds, including private asset funds and hedge funds. Because of his excellent understanding of investment strategies and his fluency in both English and Japanese, both his clients and his colleagues often rely on him to provide a deeper, more nuanced insight into the funds they are reviewing.

Originally from Australia, Mattias speaks three languages fluently: English, Swedish and Japanese.

Masashi Kataoka is the General Manager of the Alternative Investment Department at Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company, with 18 years of experience in alternative investments. Prior to his current role, he led several teams specializing in hedge fund investments, private equity fund investments, infrastructure fund investments, and venture fund and direct investments. From 2010 to 2014, he was based in Dai-ichi Life’s New York office, where he was responsible for manager selection, due diligence, and strategic initiatives with U.S.-based asset managers. In 2007, he also gained experience as a trainee at a U.S.-based hedge fund. Dai-ichi Life also demonstrates a strong commitment to venture investments, and Mr. Kataoka serves as a recommender for METI’s J-Startup program. He holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Keio University.

Kazushige has over 30 years of experience in private equity (PE) business.
He joined MCP Asset Management (“MCP”) in 2020 and manages private equity business for MCP, including 2 fund of funds programs of Tokyo Metropolitan Government. In parallel, he serves as an advisor for a couple of GPs and Japanese government funds, including Rhone, a global mid-market PE fund, SME Japan (FOFs under Japanese government) and Innovation Platform for the University of Tokyo.
Before joining MCP, he was Managing Director at Capital Dynamics (“CD”). He oversaw CD’s primary fund investments in Asia and also served as a member of Global PE Investment Committee and Executive Committee.

Akihiro Konishi is Chief Investment Officer at Federation of National Public Service Personnel Mutual Aid Associations, in Japanese “Kokka-Komuin-Kyosaikumiai-Rengokai” (KKR)since 2025.
KKR manages the employees’ pension plan together with other entities such as GPIF, and manages other pension fund for government employees. It’s AUM is about 11 trillion yen and invest in stocks, bonds, and alternative assets.
Akihiro has more than thirty years of career in financial market and experienced a variety of transactions in private loans, samurai-bonds, syndicated-loans, shipping finance, structured finance etc. He was seconded to KKR form The Development Bank of Japan (DBJ) in 2021 as head of alternative assets, and transferred in 2023. He joined DBJ in 2006 where he experienced the management of subsidiaries as a senior officer and the board member of DBJ Securities, and DBJ Asset Management. He also has a secondment experience to The National Federation of Mutual Aid Associations for Municipal Personnel for two years, where he involved in pension management and launched alternative investments. Before joining DBJ, he worked at Rating and Investment Information, and The Industrial Bank of Japan. He started his professional career at The Long-term credit bank of Japan in 1991.
Akihiro graduated Keio University in Tokyo, majored in Economics. He obtained MS in finance from Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo.

As Pension Fund of Japanese Corporations’ CIO, Yoshi Kiguchi focuses on innovative investment strategies and products within the fund’s investment horizon. He has more than 30 years of experience in investment and risk management.
Before that, Mr. Kiguchi was a managing director of Russell Investments in Japan where he supervised several teams, and delivered a wide range of consulting and solutions to institutional clients, including Toyota, Fujitsu, NEC, Sekisui, Toray, and Mazda. He joined Russell as a consultant in 1998.
Prior to Russell, Mr. Kiguchi was with Sumitomo Life for 10 years. He was placed in charge of corporate strategy, equity investments and researching capital markets, including private equity, and performing quantitative risk management and asset-liability management (ALM). He received a BSc degree in Precision Machinery (Robotics) from the University of Tokyo in 1988.

Esha Kumar is a Managing Director in the Capital Solutions Group within HSBC Asset Management in London, and is primarily responsible for NAV / Hybrid Solutions. Esha was previously responsible for Alternative Finance and GP Solutions within HSBC’s Private Capital Group based both in London and New York, where she led a number of structured credit transactions financing the Bank’s Sponsor clients. Esha is also responsible for HSBC’s Principal Investments portfolio and has led a number of high-profile Secondary Private Equity transactions on behalf of HSBC Bank over the last five years. Prior to this, Esha held roles with the Banking Management Strategy team and was previously a Portfolio Manager at HSBC Alternative Investments Limited managing commingled hedge fund portfolios. Esha has 17 years of financial markets experience across Alternative portfolio management, Structured Credit financing, Capital Markets and Principal Investments.

Alex Lynn is PEI Group's Hong Kong Bureau Chief. He is responsible for breaking news, commentary and analysis of the Asia-Pacific private markets, with a particular focus on private equity. Alex previously spent two years covering EMEA private equity markets from PEI’s London office before relocating in 2019. Prior to joining PEI, he covered specialist lending for a number of publications in London. He has a master’s degree in Journalism from Kingston University.

Mr. Makam is a portfolio manager for Oaktree’s U.S. Private Debt strategy where his primary responsibilities include oversight of the team’s investment professionals, portfolio construction and overall management of the strategies. Mr. Makam is also a managing director within the Global Private Debt strategy where he serves on the investment committee for its Direct Lending platform. Prior to joining Oaktree in 2001, Mr. Makam worked at Banc of America Securities LLC (previously NationsBanc Montgomery Securities LLC) for four years in their Leveraged Finance/High Yield Group. During that period, he specialized in bridge finance and was responsible for deal origination, market analysis, structuring, due diligence and legal documentation. Prior to joining Banc of America Securities in 1997, he worked for five years as a senior software engineer at Montage Group Ltd. and Dantec Electronics Inc. Mr. Makam received a B.S. degree with distinction in engineering from the Bangalore Institute of Technology, India. He then went on to receive an M.S. degree in engineering from the University of Akron, Ohio and an M.B.A. in finance from Yale University.

Mr. McCarthy is an executive vice president and alternative credit strategist in the Singapore office, covering credit alternatives and real estate strategies.

Prior to joining PIMCO in 2011, he was a senior financial analyst at Bank of America, supporting a long/short leveraged loan trading desk.

Additionally, he worked as an analyst on Bank of America’s internal pension plan and retirement team, overseeing the assets held in both the defined benefit and defined contribution plans offered to internal employees.

He has 17 years of investment experience and holds an undergraduate degree in business administration from the State University of New York at Geneseo.

Ms. Napolitano is a Managing Director of Investor Relations of the Investment Manager and leads the firm’s investor relations activities. She joined the Investment Manager in 2016 and has 22 years of industry experience. She previously worked in investor relations and investment banking at Credit Suisse. Ms. Napolitano is a graduate of Georgetown University (B.S., 2002).

Hiroshi Nonomiya is a distinguished financial professional with extensive experience in private equity and investment management. As the Representative Director at Crosspoint Advisors, Inc., he has played a pivotal role in establishing and expanding the firm's fund placement business, contributing significantly to its reputation for excellence in financial advisory services.

Before his tenure at Crosspoint Advisors, Hiroshi was a founding member of Ripplewood Japan, a prominent private equity fund dedicated to investments in Japan. During his time there, he served as Managing Director from 1999 to 2002 and later as Representative Director from 2002 to 2011. His leadership was instrumental in sourcing lucrative investment opportunities and
executing successful transactions. Additionally, he was actively involved in fundraising efforts and held overarching managerial responsibilities.

Hiroshi began his career at Ripplewood's New York office in 1996 as an investment executive, where he honed his skills in identifying and evaluating investment prospects. Before his work in private equity, he was amassed over two decades of experience at Mitsubishi Corporation, where he specialized in corporate advisory services, principal investments, and the establishment and management of private equity funds.

Hiroshi holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Culture from the University of Tokyo and an MBA from INSEAD.

Shinya joined the firm in 2020 and has been responsible for sourcing and conducting due diligence of private credit funds, acting as a fiduciary for institutional clients. In prior role, he was at Shinkin Central Bank, where he was in charge of credit and alternative investments. Graduated from Waseda University (Japan), BA in Commerce.

Michael Occi is a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley and a member of the Morgan Stanley Private Credit Team, where he focuses on operating activities for group. In addition, Mr. Occi serves as President of the Morgan Stanley Private Credit business development companies. Mr. Occi joined Morgan Stanley in 2006 and has held a variety of roles across Global Capital Markets and Investment Banking, with a focus on covering financial services clients. Most recently, Mr. Occi was Head of Financial Institutions Equity Capital Markets. As part of this mandate in that role, he was responsible for the Firm’s listed permanent capital efforts, including for ’40 Act products. Through his 16 years of client advisory work, Michael has executed hundreds of equity, debt and M&A transactions. Within the BDC sector, specifically, Michael has led the structuring and execution for many key IPOs; additionally, Michael has led dozens of opportunistic debt and equity offerings as well.

Michael graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University, with a BA in Finance and Accounting.

Yukio Odachi joined NFRC (formerly, Nomura Funds Research and Technology) in 2016 and engages in fund analysis and due diligence for private assets focusing on private credit. Before joining NFRC, he was portfolio manager at Nomura Asset Management responsible for managing externally entrusted funds. Before that, he engaged in product planning and development for traditional asset funds as well as private asset products in Nikko Securities.

Jeff leads Northleaf’s activities in the Asia-Pacific region and is a member of the Executive Committee. He works closely with existing and prospective investors and investment consultants to design, develop and monitor their private markets portfolios. Jeff is a member of the firm’s Investment Committees and oversees the origination, evaluation and monitoring of Northleaf’s private markets investments. He is also Chair of Northleaf’s Responsible Investment Committee.

Prior to relocating to Asia to lead Northleaf’s Tokyo office, Jeff was head of Northleaf’s investor relations and business development activities. He joined Northleaf’s predecessor, TD Capital, in 2005 and was previously a management consultant with McKinsey & Company where he specialized in corporate strategy, finance and organizational behaviour, advising companies in financial services and other sectors. Previously, Jeff was a corporate/securities lawyer with Stikeman Elliott in Toronto, and Hamada Matsumoto in Tokyo, where he advised clients on private equity, infrastructure, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions transactions. Prior to that, Jeff worked with the United Nations Development Programme in New York and West Africa.

Klaus Petersen is a Founding Partner of Apera Asset Management responsible for developing the Apera platform and the business in the DACH region. Klaus has extensive direct lending experience gained over more than 20 years investing over €5 billion across Europe. Prior to forming Apera, Klaus was a partner at BlueBay Asset Management responsible for building the German business and supporting the establishment of BlueBay’s Private Debt platform from 2013 to 2016. Before BlueBay, Klaus spent seven years at Park Square Capital (“Park Square), where he was a partner and member of the investment committee. Prior to joining Park Square, Klaus spent five years at Allianz Capital Partners from 2000, where he established, with colleagues, the mezzanine business of Allianz. There he advised on corporate, securities, and compliance matters for Fortune 500 businesses, investment firms, and institutional and high net worth clients, including ConocoPhillips, General Mills, Walt Disney Company, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, Fox Paine, Warburg Pincus, a Washington State Investment Board affiliate, and owners of the New Jersey Devils. Mr. Racz was also a journalist at The Wall Street Journal and The Buffalo News (1993-1995) and worked at the Manhattan D.A.’s Office (1991-1993).

Previously, Mr. Racz was clerk on the D.C. Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals. Diane Raposio (Hong Kong) joined KKR in 2013 and is a Partner in the firm’s Credit & Markets business. Ms. Raposio is the Head of Asia Credit & Markets and the Portfolio Manager of Asia Private Credit. She is on the Asia Private Credit Investment Committee, the Asia Tactical Credit Investment Committee and on the KKR Capital Committee. Since joining the firm, she has led a number of credit investments in Asia and has also led a broad spectrum of debt, equity and structured financings for KKR and third party clients. Prior to joining KKR, she spent six years in the leveraged debt capital markets team at Deutsche Bank (across London, Hong Kong and Sydney), UBS, Barclays, Bankers Trust and AMP. Ms. Raposio is a qualified actuary (FIAA) and holds a Masters of Economics from Macquarie University.

Pete is the Head of Investment Strategy at Challenger Investment Management, responsible for its multi-strategy credit portfolios, including the Challenger IM Credit Income Fund, Challenger IM Multi-Sector Private Lending Fund, and Challenger IM Private Lending Opportunities Fund.

Pete has been with the Challenger group since 2005, joining Challenger Investment Management in 2010, and has over 20 years of investment experience across public and private credit markets in Australia, the United States, and Europe. During the Global Financial Crisis, he was an assistant portfolio manager in London at WyeTree Asset Management, part of the Challenger group, where he focused on credit opportunities in residential real estate markets.

Pete holds a combined Bachelor of Commerce/Science degree from the University of New South Wales and is a CFA Charterholder.

Andrew Rodriguez is a Senior Research Associate at PEI Group. Based in Tokyo, he is responsible for private markets research in Japan and the greater APAC region. Masaki Sato joined Sumitomo Life Insurance in 2010. His early career included financial analysis in the Investment Planning Department, insurance sales support operations at the Takamatsu branch, and U.S. macroeconomic research at the Washington, D.C. office of the Japan Center for International Finance.

Since 2016, he has played a key role in the launch of the strategy for CLO tranche and BSL fund investments at Sumitomo Life’s ALM Investment Department. In 2020, he became the team head, leading the firm’s entry into direct lending. To date, he has executed transactions with dozens of investment managers across CLO and direct lending strategies.

Currently, he oversees the entire investment process, including manager selection, fund negotiations, and execution. Additionally, he is involved in researching new areas such as asset-based finance, contributing to the firm’s long-term strategy.

Dr. Martin Schulz is Chief Economist at Fujitsu Ltd. in Tokyo.

Martin’s work focuses on the impact of digitalization, government policies, and corporate strategies. His analyses are widely quoted in international media – with regular interviews at CNBC, Bloomberg, NHK World, etc. He supports government initiatives for digital and sustainable transformation as an advisor to the Japanese Cabinet Office and international organizations. He teaches at the Mercator School of Management.

Before joining the Fujitsu Headquarter in 2020, Martin was a research fellow at Fujitsu Research Institute (FRI), analyzing and consulting on the economics of technology.
He was a visiting researcher at the Bank of Japan and University of Tokyo, Assistant Professor of Economic Policy and Monetary Integration at Free University Berlin in Germany, and guest professor at several universities in Europe and Japan.

Jeffrey Scott is a managing director in the High Income and Alternatives division at Fidelity Investments. Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing, and other financial products and services to institutions, financial intermediaries, and individuals.

Mr. Scott is a member of the investment committee and is focused on marketing strategy, relationship management, sourcing, and investment selection.

Prior to joining Fidelity, Mr. Scott was managing director at Madison Capital Funding where he sourced and structured senior, unitranche, mezzanine and equity co-investments with a focus on high-quality sponsor-backed companies.

Prior to that, he worked as a managing director at Cerberus Capital responsible for running the Chicago office and focused on sourcing, underwriting, and structuring higher-yielding senior, 2nd lien and unitranche loans for more storied middle-market companies. He also worked as an associate at Antares Capital and underwrote senior cash flow loans and equity co-investments for private equity backed middle market companies. He has been in the financial industry since 1997.

Mr. Scott earned his bachelor of arts degree in economics from Wheaton College, as well as his master of business administration degree in finance and entrepreneurship from University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Shotaro Sese joined Sony Bank in 2024.

At Sony Bank, he oversees manager selection, negotiations, and execution of private asset portfolios with focus on private debt, real estate debt, and infrastructure debt. His career started from Nomura Securities with responsibility of portfolio analysis and marketing to local financial institutions across Japan.

He also has product management and sales experience in multiple firms, and previous role before joining Sony Bank was Sales Director at New York Life Investment Management.

James heads Berenberg’s structured finance team in Frankfurt, Germany, where he is responsible for originating and executing leveraged loans supporting mid-market buyouts in the European market. Having started out with Allied Irish Banks plc., he subsequently worked for the acquisition finance teams of Dresdner Kleinwort and Commerzbank. Since joining Berenberg in 2015, he has played a key role in building out the bank‘s direct lending strategy. Between 2007 and 2015, Takeuchi was an active owner/founder of Brightrust PE Japan, a research and investment advisory firm focused on private equity. In 1990s Takeuchi co-headed global derivatives trading at a Berkshire Hathaway group company, General Re Financial Products, and oversaw its Asia Pacific operation. He started his professional carrier at a Japanese Government’s aid agency, Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund, in 1983. He is a graduate of Tokyo University and Sydney University.

Nicholas is a Vice President at Hamilton Lane based in the firm’s Singapore office, where he is responsible for sourcing, due diligence and execution of secondary, direct and primary opportunities.

Prior to joining Hamilton Lane in 2022, Nicholas was with Mapletree Investments, where he focused on data center transactions across Asia Pacific.

Nicholas received a Bachelor of Business from Nanyang Technological University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.

Mr. Tsang is a member of the private debt team and focuses on illiquid credit investments and strategies.
Prior to StepStone, Mr. Tsang was an associate director in the Ernst & Young debt advisory team focusing on leveraged finance, ABL and growth finance transactions in the UK mid-market. Before that, he worked at UniCredit Bank in Hong Kong, developing the leveraged finance and M&A businesses covering Asia Pacific. Previously, Mr. Tsang was also in the Canaccord corporate finance team, raising equity capital on the London AIM market.
Mr. Tsang holds a degree in physics (MSc, MA) from the University of Cambridge and is a qualified chartered accountant.

Len covers external manager and strategy research for RogersIA’ s investment programs across different geographies (Global, Japan, Asia) in liquid and illiquid alternative asset classes (Hedge Funds, Private Equity and Credit, Real Assets) and traditional long-only investments. Prior to joining RogersIA, Len was most recently an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley New York’s Securitized Products Group where he worked on relative value and capital structure arbitrage strategies in credit and mortgage derivatives and oversaw development of quantitative models for mortgage-backed securities trading. Prior to that, Mr. Umantz worked in fixed income and foreign exchange derivatives trading at Susquehanna International Group in London, where he was a part of a global exotics / hybrids trading desk covering Europe, Japan, and Asia. Len holds a PhD in Finance from Stanford University and a MS in Mathematics from Northwestern. During his doctoral studies he worked for Goldman Sachs Asset Management in New York and Bill Sharpe’s Financial Engines in Palo Alto.

Manabu is Head of Aksia Asia in Tokyo and has over 39 years of experience in capital markets, derivatives and alternative investments. He oversees the advisory, research and operational work performed in Aksia’s Asia offices. Manabu focuses on portfolio governance, strategy allocation, portfolio construction, and supports the ongoing management of alternative investment programs in Asia. Prior to joining Aksia, Manabu was a Managing Director in the Equity Sales & Trading department of Morgan Stanley Tokyo. He also worked for Credit Suisse First Boston Tokyo Financial Products, where he focused on developing derivative products for institutional investors. Manabu started his career in 1985 at Daiwa Securities Japan. Manabu graduated from the University of Oregon with a BBA in Finance and Marketing and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Tomoko Yano is the Head of External Management investing on behalf of Aflac Life Insurance Japan, where she originally joined as the General manager in the Investment Planning Division. Tomoko is responsible for the traditional and private asset portfolios focused on private debt, commercial real estate debt, and various equities. She brings 25 years+ of asset management experience, including hedge funds and liquid assets. Her previous experience includes fund research and sourcing at a gatekeeper in Hong Kong and as an equity analyst at hedge funds in Hong Kong and New York. She started her career in project finance at presently called MUFJ Bank. She received a Bachelor of Laws from Keio University and a Master of Business Administration from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Kanako Yabuki is Product Specialist of Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation (MUTB) where she is responsible for selecting and monitoring mainly on Global Private Debt, as an advisor and a gatekeeper to corporate pension funds and institutional investors in Japan.

Prior to joining MUTB in 2022, served as pension fund consultant, fund analyst, product manager at Daiwa Fund Consulting from 2008, a pension fund consulting firm as subsidiary of Daiwa Securities. She is well experienced on analyzing both the portfolio and individual funds, her main coverage was on fix income related funds (including Japanese and Global long-only, unconstrained fixed income, hedge fund, mezzanine and private debt) and multi-asset/multi-strategy funds. She began the career at Mizuho Bank as sales (Relationship Management) for small and middle size Japanese corporations.

Received Bachelor of Arts degree of law from Keio University in Law and Master of Business Administration from Hitotsubashi University Business School.

三菱UFJ信託銀行のプロダクトスペシャリストとして、海外のプライベートデットのプロダクトを顧客へ提供する業務を統括。
それ以前は大和ファンド・コンサルティングに約15年在籍し、年金運用コンサルティング業務、ファンドアナリスト業務及び投資一任業務のプロダクトマネージャーに従事。ポートフォリオ分析から個別ファンドの分析・評価まで幅広く実務経験を重ねている。主なカバー領域は債券関連ファンド（国内外債券、アンコンストレインド債券、ヘッジファンド、国内メザニン、海外プライベートデット等）及びマルチ戦略。みずほ銀行にて中小企業の法人営業経験も持つ。

慶応義塾大学法学部政治学科卒。一橋大学大学院国際企業戦略研究科卒。

Junichi Yonezawa started his career at Norinchukin Bank in 2003, first working in corporate lending. Later, he moved to the Credit Investment Division, where his responsibilities included managing securitized products, LBO loans, corporate bonds, and mid-market loan fund investments. He then moved to the Alternative Investment Division, where he focused on private equity and real estate equity fund investments. Since 2021, he has been responsible for all alternative investments at Norinchukin Asset Management.

Prior to Capital Prudential, William was Fund Manager – Mortgages at Australian Unity where his responsibilities included loan origination, execution and management as well as funds establishment, funds management and new capital relationships. During his time at Australian Unity, William originated over $700m of loans and assisted to manage a fund with FUM of ~$500m.

William has over 24 years’ experience including over 18 years in real estate working for large listed corporations as well as private equity real estate funds.

William is a fellow member of CPA Australia (FCPA) and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
