Franck Abadia

Franck Abadia joined LBO France in 2014. As Managing Director in the Operating Team of LBO France, he facilitates the development of a value creation strategy throughout the investment lifecycle, spanning from acquisition to exit, in collaboration with investment and portfolio company management teams.

With 20 years of operational experience, Franck's background includes two-years at AlixPartners, a consulting firm specializing in optimizing operational performance for B-to-B clients. Before that, he held various positions in sales, project management, and strategy in the industrial sector, specifically in the Automotive, Construction Materials, and Energy industries. Franck graduated from Arts & Métiers engineering school. He also holds a MSc from Cranfield University UK and an MBA from the HEC business school.

Maria is a Partner at GTO, where she leads Value Creation.

Prior to GTO, Maria spent 15 years working with businesses to drive value creation both in a private equity context and as a consultant. Most recently, she spent six years at Hg and then Inflexion. She worked closely with the investment team and portfolio companies focusing on a combination of growth initiatives and strategic projects throughout the deal lifecycle from diligence to exit.

Maria’s experience is primarily in B2B software and tech-enabled services. Highlights include information services business Chambers and InFront, tech services business team.blue, and software businesses Sovos and Miratech.

Maria is a Swedish national and has worked in the US and across Europe. She holds an MSc in International Management from the Rotterdam School of Management and a BSc from Universitá Bocconi.

Paul-Louis started his career in the electric car industry at PSA (now Stellantis) before moving to strategy consulting at Roland Berger. He then joined Verescence (Oaktree investment) to coordinate the glassmaker's restructuring and help it achieve operational excellence. In 2014, Paul-Louis joined Shippeo, a French technology scale-up in the logistics sector, where he contributed to the company's success (20x over four years) by developing its customer base. He joined Apax Partners (now Seven2) in 2022. A French and Colombian national, he graduated from HEC and obtained a Master in Research from École Polytechnique in 2011.

Earlier in his career, Richard was the Deputy Director of Innovations in Healthcare, a non-profit imitative hosted at Duke University and founded in partnership with the World Economic Forum and McKinsey, focused on accelerating healthcare innovation in emerging markets.

Richard is based in London and holds a BSc in Industrial Economics from the University of Warwick.

I lead BDO's Global Value Chain ("GVC") offering within the UK’s Transfer Pricing practice.

As part of the GVC offering, I work with organisations going through operating model change, to address the resulting tax implications. Changes in the operating model often have a material impact on the long-term tax profile of an organisation. Such change could also impact the group's tax compliance processes. In addition, operating model transformations could create material one-off tax charges that erode/dilute the broader business case for change.

GVC reflects BDO's formalised approach to integrating tax considerations into broad operational change, ensuring any risks are pro-actively identified and mitigated where possible, and any opportunities to sustainably improve the long-term tax profile are capitalised upon.

Over the past 20 years, I have been involved in multiple types of transformations including hub structures, organisations re-designs, procurement transformation, merger integrations, buy-side and sell side carve outs, ERP transformations, manufacturing footprint rationalisation etc.

My role in such transformations is to lead the tax workstream and integrate the tax considerations into the TOM design. Often the tax workstream forms part of a wider program, working with a multi-discipline team.
